Overview

This project is a ground breaking Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project located in the Barents Sea 100km off the coast of Finnmark in Northern Norway. The site will have capacity to store 100 million tonnes of CO2, double Norway’s annual greenhouse emissions.

Scope of Work

Infinity were engaged to support the Concept Selection and pre-FEED for this CCS project. The concept selection was carried out to compare a pipeline verses vessel carbon delivery system and make a technical recommendation for the preferred option.

Engineering performed was primarily focused on the field layout, flow assurance, production chemistry, materials challenges and operational philosophies.

Findings

The outcome of the study was to select the pipeline injection solution. It was found that the pipeline concept would meet the required technical and economic requirements.
