Study / Consultancy Manager

Summary of Role:

The Study / Consultancy Manager is a key role in the Infinity organisation. We require an ambitious individual to manage a multi-discipline topsides engineering team and the associated studies they deliver.

In this role you will share responsibility and reward for achieving and exceeding the company’s accelerated growth plan KPIs which include increased headcount and financial targets.

Typically, Infinity’s projects span brownfield and greenfield front-end studies for both UKCS and International clients. This includes high level appraisal studies, Concept Selection, FEED and Detailed Design. These studies are often Process Engineering led with support from the wider engineering team which includes Technical Safety, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, I&C and Civils/Structures. As such, this role may well be suited to a candidate with substantial experience in Process Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support for Business Development, technical sales and interface with key Clients
  • Management of multi-discipline engineering team including:
    • Resource utilisation
    • Engineer’s professional development
    • Recruitment and retention
    • Technical mentoring where appropriate
  • Day-to-day responsibility for the technical and commercial delivery of studies
  • Follow up and report status of the study activities, including economic performance
  • Provide support for development of CTRs and scopes of work
  • Input to and checking of study reports
  • Interface with other Infinity departments including Subsea and Flow Assurance

Requirements:

  • Degree Qualified in a relevant subject likely to be Chemical / Process Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-discipline engineering, estimating methods, scheduling and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work in a small, growing, fast paced engineering office
  • Ability to manage expectations whilst enhancing relationships, both internally and externally
  • Track record in offshore process facilities design; topsides, fixed and floating facilities preferably including subsea which ties in with Infinity’s wider business
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering early phase consultancy / studies (concept, pre-FEED, FEED expertise)
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and writing content for tenders
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver efficient analytical solutions to engineering design tasks
  • Knowledge of oil and gas process systems, utilities, etc
  • Enthusiasm for supporting the growth of an ambitious engineering company
  • The ability to work in Westhill, Aberdeenshire office

Preferred:

  • Chartered Engineer, Member of IChemE or equivalent
